Небо над Парижем, 1942 год. Английский бомбардировщик, выполняющий важное задание, подбит немцами. Летчики покидают горящую машину, договариваясь встретиться в турецкой бане. Один из них приземляется на крыше дома, где работает маляр Огюстен Буве, а другой падает на крышу Парижской оперы и прячется вместе с парашютом в апартаментах главного дирижера. Командир экипажа «приводняется» в зоопарке — в пруду с тюленями.
